June A. Schroeder, CFP® - Financial Planner

June Schroeder achieved the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) from the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards in Denver in 1986.  She is also an RN having received her degree from UW-Milwaukee in 1969. These credentials coupled with 7 years as the Director of Economic Security for the Wisconsin Nurses Association make her uniquely qualified for her role as a certified financial planner and registered investment advisor (RIA) representative.

She has written extensively for local publications as well as for online sites like CNBC.com. She currently writes columns for www.Agingcare.com which is an online community for caregivers.  She has taught courses and lectured nationally on financial planning for universities, colleges and organizations. Her favorite topic is "How To Avoid Becoming A Bag Lady." June has been a regular guest on local radio and TV shows.  She hosted her own radio show for five years, “Today’s Woman Your Money and Your Life”, focusing on making wise choices in all aspects of life to achieve financial security.  Her writing, teaching and media appearances multiply her efforts to promote financial health and literacy.

June is an active member of the Financial Planning Association as well as a number of business and professional women’s groups.

She lives with her husband, Michael McCormick, an army pilot turned computer nerd, and her dogs and cats in West Bend, WI.

        
 
Thomas M. Wargin, CFP®, CFA – Financial Planner & Portfolio Manager

Thomas M. Wargin is president and shareholder of Liberty Financial Group, Inc. and has carried the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) from the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards in Denver since 1984. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designee and maintains his insurance license for consulting purposes.

As a registered investment advisor (RIA) representative and portfolio manager, Tom currently manages funds for approximately 150 clients. He uses a value oriented, contrarian approach coordinated with the client’s risk tolerance and financial goals in a simple, common sense style.

Tom is a member of the CFA Institute and an active member of the Financial Planning Association. He offers pro bono on-line advice for the FPA and has been quoted in financial planning and investment columns in local as well as national publications.

Tom lives in Milwaukee with his wife, Judy and enjoys maintaining his old house and dabbling in woodworking projects. They have four grown sons and two grandsons.


 
Shannon Nook – Registered Paraplanner SM
Shannon started working part-time as an administrative assistant in February of 1995. In July of 2000 she was promoted to our full-time Portfolio Manager's Assistant position. In January of 2007, she received her certification to become a Registered ParaplannerSM through the College for Financial Planning.  In 2010 we celebrate her 15th anniversary with LFG!

Her duties include office manager, supporting Tom, our Portfolio Manager, through the rebalancing process, maintaining our client portfolio records, processing all client transfer paperwork, completing quarterly report distribution, ensuring distribution of client funds, and communication with clients via email, phone, or mail to accomplish these day-to-day tasks and payroll/bills.

Her organizational skills make her an integral part of our company and at the weekly Team Meetings she keeps us connected and helps brainstorm client's issues. She also attends our monthly Investment Committee  meetings which keeps us focused on our client's investments and the changing markets.

 
Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, Shannon lives with her husband Ken, and sons Jaydon & Jacob. She enjoys camping, sports, a day at the beach, and spending time with her family.

 

Richard Mikula – Candidate for Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Certification

Richard decided to embark on a second career by becoming a member of the LFG team in January of 2007. He is our main client support person and assists Tom and June in client meetings. He also is a member of our weekly team meetings and monthly Investment Committee meetings, as well as our resident tax preparer.
 
Since Richard passed the Certified Financial Planner exam, he is working to complete his experience requirement for full CFP® designation.  Previously he retired from a 40-year career at Ladish Company and worked part time at H&R Block during tax season.
 
Richard enjoys teaching financial skills to young people and also works as a volunteer at the Bradley Center.
 
Richard and his wife, Karen, were married in 1968 and continue to live in the Milwaukee area. He enjoys golfing, biking, and spending time with his family.

 
Jeanne Timken – Customer Service Specialist
 
Jeanne joined our team in January 2007.  She manages; the reception area, phones, orders our office supplies, updates client files and processes paperwork.  She also assists Shannon with quarterly reports and special projects.
 
Jeanne greets everyone as if she has found a new best friend and makes all who meet her feel special.  Her cheerful, positive attitude permeates the office. 
 
Jeanne was raised in Elm Grove and lives in Milwaukee with her husband, Bill, and their family of cats.  She enjoys painting, viewing classic movies, and watching the wildlife in her backyard.

 
David Wargin - Administrative Assistant

David is the part-time administrative assistant on our Liberty team.  He assists Shannon with quarterly reports, inputs investment price data, and sends out our investment bulletins. Addtional responsibilities include answering the phone, filing,  updating client net worth statements, copying and scanning documents. 

He is very interested in learning more about the financial world from his father Tom Wargin and the rest of our Liberty team. He enjoys, reading (fiction and non-fiction), sports, history, cooking and traveling.
